THE SIZE OF OCTUPUS DEPENDS GREATLY ON THE LOCATION THAT IT IS HARVESTED. THAILAND OCTOPUS AVERAGES 14 TO 21 OUNCES WHILE THE PHILLIPINE OCTOPUS CAN BE ANYWHERE FROM 1 TO 6 POUNDS. THE SKIN IS SMOOTH AND THE TEXTURE IS FIRM TO CHEWY. THEY HAVE EIGHT LEGS AND IS A CEPHALOPOD, WHICH MEANS HEAD FOOTED. OCTOPUS ARE RELATED TO CUTTLEFISH AND SQUID, AND THEY ALSO HAVE A BIRD LIKE BEAK USED TO CRUSH THE SHELLS OF ITS PREY.
