PREDOMINATLY FOUND IN THE EASTERN AND WESTERN ATLANTIC OCEAN, THE BLUEFIN CAN ALSO BE FOUND IN THE MEDITERRANEAN SEA. THIS FISH CAN TOLERATE COLDER WATER TEMPERATURES THAN THE OTHER SPECIES OF TUNA. THE BLUEFIN CAN REACH UP TO 1500 POUNDS AND HAS A VERY STRONG FLAVOR IN COMPARISON TO OTHER TUNA. THE MEAT IS VERY MUCH LIKE STEAK AND IS ALMOST RED. THE VERY DARK RED STRIP OF MEAT FOUND ALONG THE LATERAL LINE IS PRIZED BY THE JAPANESE CONSUMERS.
